What is the
REX Top-up Warranty?
The REX Top-up Warranty is an extended cover solution for residential dwellings enrolled under the NHBRC Warranty Fund. It bridges the gap by offering additional protection for construction-related defects and structural issues beyond the statutory NHBRC warranty (date of occupation). REX Warranty is transferable, ensuring continued coverage even when ownership of the property changes.

To qualify for the REX Top-up Warranty, the following conditions must be met:
Do You Meet the REX Warranty Requirements?
Property Age Limitation
The property must be no older than 3 years from NHBRC Warranty (date of occupation) issue date.
NHBRC Enrolment Certificate
The home must have a valid NHBRC Enrolment Certificate (date of occupation) in place.
Registered Builder Compliance
The builder must have been NHBRC-registered at the time of warranty issuance.

What's not Covered
REX Top-up Warranty does not apply to:

Defects resulting from homeowner alterations or negligence.

Commercial or non-residential buildings.

Damage from natural disasters (unless otherwise extended).

Electrical or mechanical failures

Pre-existing or previously settled claims under NHBRC or other warranties.
